DIY LARGE SCALE PLOTTER
2021. I made a new machine to make vector-art, based on a Core-XY system. Almost finished.
The hardware
Working area: 1500x1000mm.
The motors are stationary because of the Core-XY belt system and the weight of the moving parts is kept down. This way, the speed of the carriage can be maximized.
The head contains a retractable tool clamp to hold a pen or pencil. It is actuated by two servos. By setting their angles, the pressure of the drawing tool can vary on paper. The springs allow for continious contact while drawing.
This machine was my first build to use Klipper firmware. The master is a Raspberry Pi, the slave is an Ender 3 4.2.2 mainboard.
The pin 28 on the motherboard has been used to configure the PPM signal for the servo.
